How and why I became a Chiropractor

In 2011 I was working as a personal trainer and class instructor on board a luxury cruise liner on the West coast of America. Whilst trying to surf on the waters of Hawaii, I badly damaged my right ankle which subsequently mean that I could no longer take my pilates, stretching, abs or spin classes and so my contract was to be terminated as I could no longer fulfil my duties.

One morning, during one of my final stretch classes there was a Chiropractor (which I had no idea at this point what a Chiropractor was), at the end of my class this lady approached me and asked if she could “Adjust” my ankle. I agreed, and so my ankle was “Adjusted”, I felt and heard a “Click” and wasn’t sure what had just happened.

This is no exaggeration when I say that this transformed my foot mobility, almost completely removed my pain and ultimately allowed me to see out and complete my contract upon the ship.

I started my studies in Bournemouth in 2012 and in the summer of 2016 I completed my Masters Degree in Chiropractic at South Wales University.

I currently treat a wide range of patients from Elite National swimmers to more common aches and pains from daily activities. My treatment times will last between 30-45 minutes depending on the patient needs and consist of but are not limited to;

Spinals and joint manipulation and mobilisation, dry needling, deep tissue massage with a variety of myofascial release techniques and many forms of stretching.

The initial consultation will last 60 minutes, in which time I will take a medical history, postural and spinal analysis, muscle and orthopaedic testing, all of which will enable me to correctly diagnose your pain of complaint and then I will devise a specific treatment plan for you.

I can assure you that I will give you 100% of my time, effort and knowledge and in return, if I set you some home stretches and/or exercises to perform, I do expect you to do this.

The homework I will be giving you will speed up your recovery process and if you are proactive and maintain the advice given, will reduce the likeliness of that same pain returning.

If you would like anymore information or still wondering if I may be able to help you then please get in touch and we can talk more.
